Vortex Flow Meter

The VF Vortex Flowmeter measures the volumetric flow of fluids (gases, vapors, liquids) in closed pipes. It is based on the Vortex shedding principle, (or Karman Vortex Effect). The fluid passing through the measuring tube is separated by a triangular prism with a broad flat front and generates two lines of eddies or vortices, the Karman Vortex shedding street. The vortex shedding frequency is proportional to the flow rate.It is detected by a sensor with 4 piezo-electric elements and converted into an electronic output signal.
