High Temperature Industrial Applications
For high temperature applications (1200°C – 1700°C or higher) for
- molten metal or glass
- melted light alloys
- oil fired or plast furnaces
- Ethylene crackers
- brick or calcinating cement kilns
Limatherm offers solutions with special Thermocouple inserts, ceramic or high grade metal protection tubes.
High temperature ceramic protection tubes are usually made of Mullite (a silicate mineral) or Corundum, (an aluminum oxide mineral with good refractory and thermal shock protective features). For cement kilns we recommend Kanthal® AF, a ferritic iron-chromium-aluminium alloy (FeCrAl alloy). The more costly Hexaloy and Methal Ceramic materials are used for highly corrosive or high resistance to wetting applications.
The sensors can be equipped with 3 different Thermocouples, (usually type K, S, R or B) to measure temperature at different depth.
Tungsten Rhenium Thermocouples (type A, C, D) with a Molybdenum Thermowell Tube can do longterm measurement up to 2300°C in vacuum, reducing, neutral atmospheres, (except oxydizing atmospheres containing carbon and graphite).
Limatherm offers complete solutions of high temperature probes with suitable mounting brackets, tramsmitter and connection heads.
